GRATITUDE - The ultimate performance enhancer.
Hello and thanks for taking the time. I feel like we can make this short and sweet, for attention spans sake and the fact I could write about 100 things but this was what came to my mind.
The initial spark for the topic came from a conversation about running and mushrooms. Some people can’t believe this could be a thing, others seem interested and then there are the outliers who understand that running ( especially trail ) is a sacred experience and one that already connects us to nature. So why not take it a step further and enhance the whole thing and connected a little deeper through the world of fungi? I mean it’s in the name, FUN.
This should not be taken as medical or sports training advice but rather a spark of interest and you can decide where you’d like to take it. Or not.
We asked a local purveyor one simple question. Do you feel like *it helps you?
Here was their answer.
It’s not performance enhancing like a steroid ( although winning run club could be fun ) and it’s surely not giving you the crash and burn of an extra large red bull at 5 am but if anything it boosts the gratitude one has. Gratitude for the place we get to run ( err walk and shuffle ). Gratitude for our bodies and how incredible they are that they can carry us over mountains and down some sketchy volcanic rocks. Gratitude for the other 4000 people who also signed up to do such a thing with their sunday morning.
If Gratitude gives us anything it’s a big SMILE and it’s damn near impossible to smile and have a bad time.
So thats it. Short and kinda sweet. You don’t need *it to find gratitude. Just look around. Worry less about numbers and more about how you FEEL. If we can base more of the time moving our bodies based on feel it will only enhance the rest of our lives and attract people that lift us up.
